The Indian Government is a disappointer...With inflation refusing to cool down, the Indian Government is doing nothing. RBI is helpless as it has already raised bank rates by almost 150 basis points over the past 12 months.
Raising bank rates will not help reduce increase in prices of food and crude...Fiscal measures are required and not Monetary measures. Since the Central Government is sitting quietly waiting for the state elections to get over, the common mass is sitting on a ticking time-bomb...further rise in inflation!!
The Central Government has obviously asked the Oil Marketing companies not to raise the oil prices till elections are over. So with the crude prices having crossed USD 120, we may see significant rise in petrol, diesel and LPGprices post elections. This would further increase prices across all sectors!!
Why cant the Central Government reduce duties on crude and also ask state Governments to reduce sales tax on the same. This could infact lead to fall in prices in petrol, diesel and lpg despite the fact that crude has crossed USD 120.
RBI in its last policy declarations clearly said that it was helpless....despite this we still do not have any response from the Government...Now with the unwinding of all the big scams during the tenure of this Government, I have serious doubts on the capability of these guys to run the country!! We can just hope for a change soon!!

Indian World Cup Victory
India has finally lifted the world cup after nearly 3 decades....surely a great time for celebrations!!
So Sachin Tendulkar has at last added the last jewel to his crown....in fact it was the only one which was eluding him so far!! He is indeed the God of Cricket!!
Mumbai has erupted...whole night saw terrific celebrations on the streets across Marine Drive....loads of people out on the streets waving the Indian flags and shouting slogans while amazing fireworks lit up the sky!!

Love, Sex & Dhokha - The serious Dhokha!
When the title of a movie is this, its bound to generate curiosity. The promos were good, exciting and pulled audience. Good reviews over the newspapers enhanced the same. Excited...I decided to watch the movie, especially when it was directed by the man who made Khosla ka Ghosla and Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!
The excitement however soon turned into disappointment. I found it difficult to sit in the theatre and watch the whole movie. It is aw, brutal and real but a drag inspite of being a movie of under 2 hours.
What makes it a failure?
The biggest draw back was the fact that the main plot or storyline or the script was weak. The raw brutality was presented in a manner which I would say is undoubtedly appreciable. But when the main plot fails, nothing else works (not even the good acting).
Connecting 3 stories into one also came up a few years back in a movie by the name "3 Deewarein" by Nagesh Kukoonoor. It was a classic movie though not very popular given the fact that it wasn't commercialised. Yet a movie from which every director can take an inspiration.
Back to LSD - What would have made the difference?
A much better plot was the basic need as already stated. A strong one essentially. The connectivity between the 3 stories did not have a big impact and thats why the try that the Director made to bring twists or create a new sense of excitement essentially failed. The connectivity was weak and not of much relevance.
The filming technique also fails. Similar to the style used in Blair Witch Project, the style doesn't work for me here. It merely added to the misery and created further disinterest.
We can just hope that a person of the quality of Dibakar Banerjee (The Director), comes back to his usual quality which has had an impeccable record before LSD...

I am back!
I a back after a long time. Finally changed job and have shifted to the land of opportunities - Mumbai. The lifestyle and work culture is so much different and so much better. I hope further opportunities open up for me and I can move ahead in life!
I thought it would be easy but it wasn't to be so. Its difficult to live alone suddenly especially when you've been dependent on family and friends till now. However, a month and a half already gone and I have finally been able to settle down and cope up with the new fast-paced lifestyle.

The first trip to Hyderabad
It was my first trip to Hyderabad last week. It's an amazing city, with great infrastructure and nice facilities. However, I found the streets and lanes pretty complicated and confusing!! It was really difficult to reach a given destination at any point in time!! Even the locals could not help much...
Then spent a day each in each of the client's sites - Tondur, Koyeguddam, Kottaguddam and Tuni. Now, these places are at the outskirts of Hyderabad. The locals spoke only Telugu...not Hindi...nor English! Luckily we sometimes had someone assisting us who could communicate in English or else we would have ordered for something and got something else!!!!
Food was great! Never knew that South Indian food can be something which is a lot different from the usual Idli/Dosa/Vada and yet be so good...
The Restaurant ISDA Thai was made with great thinking and designs. Each of articles or items used were imported from Thailand!! So can very well guess the cost that would have been associated with the same. The food was good and the DrInKs too...
Karachi Bakery is a famous place in Hyderabad for buying baked food and other stuffs. I had some great Liquor Chocolates...The chocolates were very tempting, but I avoided buying a whle lot of cake for myself!! Also got a few boxes of the most famous biscuits of Karachi Bakery - The Cherry & Almond ones!!
